Q. What are the allowable incoterms in case of import?


Answer:

Import can be done freely against any incoterms other than DDP, CIF and CIP. However, import under CIF and CIP may be made subject to prior permission of Ministry of Commerce. Import against DDP cannot be made at all.
Remittance of freight or other charges payable abroad under incoterm used, shall be subject to provisions of FERA and related regulations.
